As a therapist, my goal is to empower my clients to address and manage the issues that bring them to therapy with expertise and empathy. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist with master’s and doctoral degrees from a COAMFTE-accredited university, as well as a clinical fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. My education, training, and experience enable me to treat clients in crisis, clients suffering psychological or social stress, clients and their families dealing with mental illness, and individuals and families with relationship problems. With my guidance, clients gain perspective, develop coping skills, and find ways to shape the lives that they want for themselves.
I am a non-judgmental “big picture” thinker who understands my clients in their unique contexts and helps them to see how they influence and are influenced by their relationships with family, friends, co-workers, community, and society as a whole.
I assist clients in learning to manage the emotions that often overwhelm them so that they can think clearly, communicate effectively, and advocate for themselves.
I challenge negative thinking to open up possibilities and potentials.
I teach mindfulness skills that enable clients to “live in the moment” without anxiety about the future or regret about the past.
